Peer Review Policy

The International Journal of Legal Research (IJLR) follows a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published manuscripts. The journal is committed to maintaining high scholarly standards and ethical publishing practices.

Reviewing the Laws

Type of Peer Review

IJLR follows a Double-Blind Peer Review process. Under this system: •The identities of the authors are not disclosed to the reviewers. •The identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors. This ensures objectivity, impartiality, and fairness in the evaluation of submissions.

Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the Editorial Board to assess: •Relevance to the journal’s scope •Originality and academic contribution •Compliance with submission guidelines •Plagiarism (as per the journal’s Plagiarism Policy) Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to independent subject-matter experts for peer review. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the relevant area of law. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts on the following parameters: •Originality and relevance of the research •Depth of legal analysis and reasoning •Clarity of arguments and structure •Adequacy of references and citations •Contribution to existing legal scholarship

Review Outcomes

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, a manuscript may be: •Accepted without revisions •Accepted subject to minor revisions •Accepted subject to major revisions •Rejected Authors are required to address reviewer comments within the stipulated time frame. Revised manuscripts may be sent for re-review, if necessary.

Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board, based on reviewers’ reports and the overall suitability of the manuscript for publication.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers are required to maintain strict confidentiality and must not use any unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers are expected to declare any conflict of interest that may affect their impartiality. In such cases, the manuscript is reassigned to another reviewer.

This Peer Review Policy is adopted by the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Legal Research (IJLR) and is subject to periodic review.
